Students' Week 2024 under the aegis of Higher Education Department, Govt. of West Bengal

Students of Calcutta Girls' College have attended a workshop on Self Defence, titled Virangana , organised by Rotary Club of Calcutta, in Rotary Sadan , Kolkata.
Under the expert traineeship of Mr. Abhijit Mitra and Utpal Chakraborty, the students have learnt a number of techniques and methods to defend themselves from unwarranted aggression. This was a great initiative for confidence building for the students who need to travel on road and share public space in everyday life.
Calcutta Girls' College is thankful to Prof. Sarvani Gooptu , Professor of Asian Literary and Cultural Studies, Netaji Institute for Asian Studies in Kolkata for inviting the college to take part in this programme. The girls from Shyama Prasad College had also participated in this programme.

International Yoga Day

International Yoga Day was observed in college after a month long initiation programme held both online and offline under qualified Yoga instructors. Students who participated in the programme received certificates and shared the effect of Yoga on physical and mental well-being.
