A prize entitled to be given annually to the Final Year Student of Dept. of Urdu, who scores highest marks in B.A. (Urdu Hons) conducted by the University of Calcutta. This award is given in memory of noted Urdu poet and writer Late Prof. Aizaz Afzal (Ex-Member, West Bengal Public Service Commission and Ex-Head, Department of Urdu, Maulana Azad College, Kolkata)

BEDIL MURSHIDABADI MEMORIAL BOOK PRIZE

A prize entitled to be given annually to the student of Calcutta Girls’ College who scores highest marks in B.A. Urdu General (Final Year) conducted by Calcutta University. This award is given in memory of noted Urdu Classical poet Bedil Murshidabadi, who was also the founder teacher of the Dept. of Urdu, Calcutta Girls’ College and belonged to Murshidabad, the erstwhile and a very important centre for Urdu Language of West Bengal.
