INTRODUCTION

The Commerce Discipline is not only a department but it is also a whole stream like Arts and Science. In the year 1998 the Commerce Stream and Department was introduced in our college as a general discipline. In the year 2003 under the principalship of Dr Raghunath Datta this Discipline became recognized as aHonours Discipline under the University of Calcutta and now we have ten friendly as well as properly guide faculties. They are Prof. Prem Kumar Ghosh( Associate Professor), Dr Amalesh Patra( Assistant Professor), Prof. Prasenjit Makur( Assistant Professor), Prof. Srimanta Paul( SACT), Prof. SomenathGhoshS(SACT), Prof. Sovan Das( SACT), Prof. Debashis Biswas( Assistant Professor), Prof. Nupur Roy( Assistant Professor), Prof. Sanjana Mukhopahyaya(SACT) and Prof. Rina Mukhopahyaya(Guest Teacher). Commerce as a Discipline is an extremely job-oriented as well as a very practical based subject. In the modern era no economic activity can run without the association of commerce. Today’ s world is nothing without Commerce actions. In our college this Discipline is the best as per the past results of the of the University of Calcutta. Our students of our Department or Stream is equally efficient in NSSprogrammes, cultural activities, sports and quiz etc. The ex students of our Discipline are getting jobs regularly in various professional fields and as well as pursue higher studies in renowned Institutions even in Europe.Our subject Routine for all the six semesters are uploaded in the Routine section.The syllabus of all the semesters are shown in the Syllabus section.The Teaching Plan is also uploaded as per the C.U. guidelines in the specific section of the Department.
