Department of English presently has 3 Full-time teachers and 3 Guest Faculty members and is focused on an interactive teaching-learning that employs a balance between class-room based and ICT enabled facilities. The faculty members have developed a scientific teaching design that is continuously reviewed and updated on the basis of students’ feedback. Students are provided with detailed teaching plan and a reading list so that classes can become interactive. In order to help students requiring remedial care, the lectures, ereferences, handouts and audio-visual teaching aids are uploaded for students’ ready access. Our students are encouraged to assimilate learning through students’ seminar presentations, performances and quiz programmes, film screening, publication of annual e-journal Pensées écrites (Thoughts in Writing) and departmental wall magazine. The department has carved a distinct identity in terms of progression into higher education, attaining self-reliance and our students have been recently videocasing their cultural potential to mark cultural events.
