About Us

The Minority Cell of the college is formed with the purpose of empowering the minority communities in the college. The Minority Cell, basically, helps minority students including Christian, Muslim, etc. in many forms for their academic development. The cell facilitates financial supports for the students from minority communities, provided by the government agencies and other sources. It ensures the protection of minorities and acts as per the provisions of the constitution of India in such matters. It resolves the problems and needs of minorities. The Minority Cell was first established in August 2013 at our esteem organization. Since then, the cell has called regular meetings every six months to discuss various minority scholarship related issues and the development of the minority community. Since most of the students in our college are from the minority community, we have to take special care of their opportunities and bright career.

The Minority Cell also processes the matter that corresponds with the MHRD and UGC regarding reservation of the minority communities. It collects and compiles the annual data in respect of strength of students and staff belonging to minority communities. Further it maintains a Register for cases of discrimination, which is nil so far.

Our esteem institution has been providing important scholarships over the past few years for the minority community such as West Bengal Minorities’ Development and Finance Corporation (WBMDFC), Urdu Academy scholarship, Chief Minister Relief fund. All these are not only for their financial support of higher education but also to enhance building their morale.
